Holmfirth Artweek is coming
As we draw closer to July lets have a look at who is coming to Artweek this year
If you have been to Holmfirth Artweek before you will know what a great and diverse selection of artists, makers and demonstrators we have, both amateur and professional, over the coming months there will be lots more to share about some of the wonderful art you can expect to see at this years event!
But let me tell you about one of my favourite aspects of Holmfirth Artweek; our featured artists, this year we have two, Pippa Ashworth and David Mayne.
Pippa Ashworth is a landscape artist, Born in Middlesex, Pippa moved to Yorkshire in 1973 working as a lecturer teaching Printmaking and Photography for most of her career. While teaching she also gained her Master of Fine Art degree at Sheffield University. Painting was increasingly becoming an important part of her life and she finally took the plunge in 2012 to paint full-time.
Working from her studio in Yorkshire, she exhibits and sells her paintings throughout the North of England and more recently at RHS Wisley, RHS Hyde Hall and Winchester Guildhall as part of the prestigious Craft in Focus events. Her work is included in private collections throughout the UK.
Pippa’s work is categorised by Season. Whether you want a crisp Winter landscape or a sunny Summer scene, Autumnal hues or a Spring palette, there’s an original landscape painting or limited edition print to suit your decor.
David Mayne is a sculptor of national repute who produces work for galleries, public spaces and the domestic environment. David started his career by attaining a BA Hons in fine art from Sheffield and has been exhibiting since 1987. His artwork has been commissioned throughout the country and can be found in town centres, rural locations, public buildings and private homes and gardens. All of David's work is proudly made in Yorkshire
You can find our featured artists’ work exhibited and on sale in Holmfirth Civic Hall throughout Artweek.
